Graduated with my Master of Arts in Journalism!

I had not anticipated the transformation and hardships that I would have to overcome in the last year and a half, but I am proud of what I’ve accomplished and I am better for all of it. A few acknowledgments/ thanks:

To the faculty, staff and administration at Newmark-J (formerly CUNY-J), as well as Soledad O’Brien and the team at SO’B Productions where I interned, who believed in me and always had their doors open. From the adjuncts and professors who worked with me to the broadcast associates and security staff, you made even the hardest days better.

To my classmates and colleagues as we struggled, collaborated, challenged each other, cried and fellowshipped at all hours in the newsroom and wherever stories took us.

To all of the sources, editors and people who responded to my calls, emails, DMs to share their stories and/or opportunities with me. Journalism is built upon your trust, partnership and openness.

And to my family and friends for supporting me in not just this adventure, but my journey to continually be my most authentic and realized self.

Although I don’t get the degree until June 2020, I can’t wait for what comes next! xo
