Hello! I’m Carolyn Adams, a Multimedia Storyteller and Creative Strategist, based in New York City.
With 10+ years of experience in media and non-profit storytelling, I bridge creative production and strategy to help mission-driven organizations and individuals share stories that inspire action.
My career has spanned journalism, higher education, digital & social media marketing, and photography — including working as an audio producer for one of the nation’s leading public radio stations, managing communications and career development programming at an ivy league university, and serving as the lead video storyteller for a globally-recognized research institution.
My visual stylings are influenced by a decade of freelance photography and video production experience (previously ‘Captured By Care’) working with a diverse array of clients. I have reported from New York Fashion Week, Culture Con Brooklyn, the Blackweek Economic Forum and Festival, New York Comic Con, WNYC’s Werk It Women’s Podcast Festival, and more.
I have also contributed to cinematic storytelling projects about key programs across NYC Public Schools, which has included short and feature-length films like The Vision Class: A Martha’s Vineyard Legacy (2025) and Defining US: Children at the Crossroads of Change (2022).
Certified as a life coach in 2025, my passion for storytelling and service is only enhanced by the incorporation of coaching tenets like active listening, action planning, empowerment, and non-judgment. I also provide personal branding & project support to women and femmes in creative fields & academia.
I hold an Master’s degree in Journalism, Bachelor’s degree in Communications/ Media Studies with minors in Anthropology and (nearly) Studio Art, and Certifications in Social Media Marketing and Life Coaching.
As a proud third generation New Yorker, I enjoy trying new restaurants and going to Broadway shows. Always happy to make a recommendation! 🎭
